AI receptionist for salons, barbershops and spas

Digui is an AI receptionist built from your salon's website that answers the phone while you're with a client, 24/7. It quotes your services and prices, books appointments into Square or Calendly, and speaks whatever language your clients call in.

Which calls does a salon miss?

The phone rings when your hands are full: foils in, clippers running, a client halfway through a massage. Stopping is unfair to the person in your chair, and not stopping can lose the person on the line, who may book with whoever answers first. And when you close, every call goes to voicemail.

Hair, nail and beauty salons, barbers and spas hear the same questions all week:

  • “Do you have anything Saturday morning?”
  • “How much is a balayage?” or “What's the price for a gel fill?”
  • “How long does a color take? Do I need a consultation or a patch test first?”
  • “I need to cancel tomorrow at 2.”
  • “Do you take walk-ins? Is there parking?”

What does a booking call sound like?

A barbershop that books through Square, with Digui answering while every chair is busy:

  • Caller: “Hi, do you have anything Saturday for a men's cut?”
  • Digui: “Saturday I have 11:15 or 2:30 for a men's cut, which is $35. Which suits you?”
  • Caller: “11:15.”
  • Digui: “Great. Can I have your name and phone number?”
  • The caller gives them.
  • Digui: “You're booked for Saturday at 11:15, Jordan. See you then.”

What happened behind that call?

Digui checked the shop's bookable services in Square, found the free start times for a men's cut and booked the 11:15. Jordan was matched to his Square client record by phone number; a first-time caller is added as a new client. The $35 came from the price list on the shop's website, and the whole call is in Logs with its summary and transcript.

What does Digui do on a salon's calls?

  • Quotes your services and prices from your website or a price list you upload, including what changes a price, like hair length or adding a toner, if you write it down.
  • Books into Square Appointments using your bookable services and how long each takes, or into your Calendly event types (for Calendly, it asks the caller's email). With Google Calendar or Outlook, write how long each service takes in the tool's instructions.
  • Explains your cancellation and late policy, takes cancellations and reschedule requests, and emails them to you with Gmail so you can free the slot.
  • Answers in the caller's language and switches mid-call if they do, so a client more at ease in Spanish or Portuguese books just as easily.
  • Transfers a call to the front desk or the owner when a client asks for a person or has a complaint, only to the numbers you list.
  • Sounds like your salon: pick a voice and a Friendly or Fun persona, and teach it your stylists' names and words like balayage in Pronunciation.

Does it work with Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy or Boulevard?

Not today. For salon booking, Square and Calendly work now, along with Google Calendar and Outlook. Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy and Boulevard aren't integrations, so Digui can't see or book times in them. Here's the full list of apps.

If your book lives in one of them, Digui still answers every question, can tell callers they can book online on your website, and takes booking requests that it emails to you. To ask for your app, use Bring your own tool or API.

How do I set it up for my salon?

  • Type your salon's website on the homepage and call your receptionist about half a minute later, for free.
  • Sign up and check its prompt: services, prices, how long each takes, deposits, your cancellation policy, walk-ins, and which services need a consultation first.
  • Upload your price list or service menu (PDF, Word or text) if it isn't on your website.
  • On Professional or Business, connect Square or Calendly, and add Gmail for cancellations and Call transfer for the front desk.
  • In Install, verify your salon's number and forward calls to the Transfer to number, always or only when you're busy or don't answer, so whoever is free can still pick up.

How much does it cost?

Starter is $99/month for 200 phone minutes and 1 receptionist: it answers price and service questions and takes messages you read in Logs, but it can't book, because tools come with Professional and Business. Professional is $249/month for 500 minutes, 3 receptionists, appointment booking and call transfers. Business is $499/month for 1,000 minutes and 10 receptionists, for example one per location. Extra minutes cost $0.25 each.

What won't it do?

  • Book with a particular stylist in Square. It books the service at a free time with whoever Square has available, so callers can't pick a stylist yet.
  • Cancel or move a booking itself. It takes the request and emails you, so you can change it in Square or Calendly.
  • Take deposits or card payments over the phone.
  • Text or WhatsApp a confirmation yet: SMS and WhatsApp are coming soon.
  • Book into Fresha, Vagaro, Booksy or Boulevard.
