The core difference: people, AI or both
Smith.ai's main pricing page sells call answering by real people, available 24/7. Beside it are an AI Receptionist that answers on the first ring and can pass complex calls to its Live Agent Network, and a Hybrid service where AI takes routine calls and a person takes the ones that need more care.
Digui is an AI receptionist and nothing else. It answers every call itself, and when a caller needs a person it passes the call to your team with a summary. If you want a human answering service behind the AI, Smith.ai has one and Digui doesn't.
Pricing: per call or per minute
As listed on their site in November 2026, Smith.ai's AI Receptionist has a Free plan with 25 calls a month ($3.00 per call after that), Pro from $150/month for 75 calls and Enterprise from $500/month for 300 calls. Its human Virtual Receptionists cost $300/month for 30 calls, $810/month for 90 and $2,100/month for 300, with add-ons like booking and a Spanish line. Hybrid starts at about $2.50 a call.
Digui charges by minutes. Starter is $99/month for 200 phone minutes, Professional $249/month for 500 minutes with booking, calendar integrations and call transfers, and Business $499/month for 1,000 minutes. Extra minutes are $0.25. See Digui's pricing.
Short calls stretch a minutes plan further; long calls can favor paying per call. A month of your call history will tell you which costs less.
Setup and what the receptionist knows
With Digui, you type your website on the homepage. It learns your services, prices and hours and builds your receptionist in about half a minute, and you can call it from your browser or any phone before you create an account. Then add documents, like a price list, and it looks them up during calls. You keep your number and forward your calls, always or only when you don't answer.
Smith.ai lists a launch of about 15 minutes for its AI Receptionist, using Quality Studio to train it on your business and goals.
Languages
Smith.ai covers English and Spanish, with AI and human options in both. Digui answers in the caller's language, switches mid-call if they do, and lets you pick its accent. That matters if your callers speak Portuguese, French, Japanese or anything beyond English and Spanish.
Integrations and booking
Smith.ai's AI Receptionist integrates natively with Salesforce, HubSpot and Clio, reaches 5,000+ apps through Zapier or Make, and books with Calendly and more. Its homepage names many legal tools, like Filevine and MyCase, a real plus for law firms.
Digui works today with Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendly, Gmail, Shopify, Square and call transfers (see which apps). HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier and others are coming soon, and if your app isn't listed, Digui will build the tool for you. Tools come with Professional and Business.
